How to Telnet Router from PC


Telnet login is a great feature to access and control the network devices from remote loaction or remotely and as a ccna voice and ccna data learner you need to be master in  to configure telnet login in to the cisco router and switch in this recipe we will learn how to enable telnet login to router and switch and what is the prerequsite of telenet login

Use of Telet login
to access router and switch  remotely

Prerequisite to use telnet in router

  1. telnet login is enabled
  2. interface should be configured with ipaddress

Configure/enable telnet session on router “Janpat” with password “cisco123”

Janpat#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line.  End with CNTL/Z.
Janpat(config)#line vty 0 4
Janpat(config-line)#password cisco123
Janpat(config-line)#login
Janpat(config-line)#exit
Janpat(config)#

Verify the telnet login from remote router
now 1st login to the other device and do the telnet for example i logged in to DLF router and doing telnet to router Janpat by ip address wich assigged into the interface of “Janpat” router.

DLF#telnet 10.10.10.1

Trying 10.10.10.1 … Open
***************************************************

* Unauthorized access prohibited
****************************************************

User Access Verification

Password:
